As hard as it is to fathom that we are in a whole new year, we have to start preparing for another holiday! I actually love Valentines Day. Cliche? I’m ok with that. I genuinely get all into my feelings around Valentines Day and find myself reflecting on my gratitude towards the loved ones in my life. Valentines day isn’t just for your significant other, you know! It’s important for our kids to not only see that we love each other, but we also want them to experience the sweet sentiment of valentines day as well. I don’t want me daughter growing up thinking it’s a day intended for her…

My kid has lice! Now What?
I was parting my daughter’s hair when I saw IT. The panic-inducing, cringeworthy, disgusting little white teardrop strategically placed on a single strand of her hair. I froze in fear; said a silent prayer that it was only dandruff as I gently ran my fingers over it. I immediately flashed back to when my daughter was 2, and she got lice for the first time. I spent 2 days going through her hair. My back hurt, my fingers hurt, and I felt like I was going cross-eyed. I knew it would only be a matter of time before it happened again. Listen, I have an 11 year old boy. Even…

Family Beach Day Must Haves on Amazon!
Living in Florida all my life, the beach is a MUST for our family. Especially during the hot summers. Here are the things we bring to survive beach days during the summer. Shade – The Sun is brutal, especially when it comes to the littles. Their skin is so delicate, so any time they can be in the shade, take advantage. Our personal preference is a large canopy. There are some who prefer beach umbrellas, but either one will make your beach stay more enjoyable. Ocean Safe sunblock – I wish I could shout this from the rooftops of the hotels on the beach. I wish the local shops, and…

My husband asked if I was leaving him
We were in the car having a discussion, and he point blank said, “Are you going to leave me?” The answer was No. I was a little taken back by his question, but after thinking about it, I could see why he would ask me. I probably can’t even depict all the baggage I carried up until that point, but I am going to try. Up until 2 ½ years ago, I was completely dependent on my husband. I don’t mean financially. I was 256 pounds. Seeing the number is embarrassing and difficult. If I wanted to go to the gym, I would say – “Hey babe, do you want…

I stay behind the camera for a reason
My mom’s a photographer. Not like a, my mom bought a camera and is playing around with it, photographer. My Moms kind of photographer who other photographers hire to take their own family portraits. She’s good. I am so proud of her, and all of her accomplishments. This post isn’t about how incredible of a photographer she is, because no photographer could have stopped me from feeling the way I felt the day she sent me this picture. I have to apologize for the poor photo quality. This is actually a picture of the image on a computer screen. I don’t even have the original anymore. To some, this might…

To the Mom with the Messy Bun
This morning I was dropping my daughter off at Summer camp. As I was leaving, 2 other Mom’s were dropping their kids off. The Mom to my right got out of her car, heel first. And I mean, High Heel first. The kind of heel that you belly laugh at when you see videos of girl’s baby deer walking in them as you scroll through Facebook. After I stopped looking at her ridiculously high heel, I immediately noticed her gorgeous Navy dress with delicate floral details, perfectly curled hair, and makeup on point. YOU GO MOM IN THE HEELS! To my left, the other mom was walking around the other…

Mom Hacks – Lunches
It’s summertime! Which means I have to pack lunches! Yay. (Insert sarcasm here) I have to admit, packing lunches isn’t my favorite thing. Like, I try to be THAT Mom. You know, the one? The one who plans lunches 2 weeks in advance, meal preps, and has the cutest, most elaborate, and healthy lunches? I am NOT that Mom. My kids aren’t open minded when it comes to food. My son isn’t as bad as my daughter, but their tastes are interesting. My lunches, are functional, convenient, and the kids don’t complain about them, so i’m winning in my book. I did want to share with you my experience with…

I lost my Identity
I guess that’s what you call click bait. Kind of. Let me explain what that means. I am Stephanie. I used to be just Stephanie, an independent entity. Then I had kids. The majority of the time, I am answering to Mom. Then I got married (because my Mom says I do everything the hard way) and then I got a whole new identity as a wife, with a new last name to boot. I work full time, am a Quality Assurance Coordinator at a Surgical Supply Company. I let these titles consume me. I work very hard to be the best Wife, Mother, and Employee that I can. While…
